Building Skills for the Future Conference – helping community based organisations build skills – FREE workshops – 16 June 2012

Rockhampton Regional Council working with Volunteering QLD and the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) will be providing FREE of charge workshops designed to help build skills for those that operate a community based organisation or who are thinking of forming a community based organisation.

The Building Skills for the Future Conference will be held on Saturday 16 June 2012 at the Gracemere Community Hall.

SESSION DETAILS:
Formal Registration – 9am
Welcome and Acknowledgements – 9.30am – 10am
Session One 10am – 12.30pm (participants choose which of these two workshops they wish to attend)
– Community Leadership, how to manage lead and promote a community based organisation
– Risk Management and Insurance
Session Two 1pm – 3.30pm (participants choose which of these two workshops they wish to attend)

– Securing funds for your organisation – how to write grants and fundraise
– Volunteer management training – how to recruit, retain, recognise and ensure safety of volunteers

Attendees will receive a FREE Community Capacity Building Toolkit which will contain all course notes and presentation material. Please note that an organisation can send more than one person to the conference.
