These cadetships offer the opportunity to further your career through on-the-job experience and a structured study program. The Cadet Programs commence in June 2013 in our surface and underground mining operations in Queensland's Bowen Basin. BMA Cadetships provide a combination of work experience and training, supported with University study to candidates motivated to develop their skills and abilities in related technical areas. Our Cadet program is aimed at those who have completed Year 12 schooling and have relevant work experience. A formal trade qualification is required for Project Management, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering roles along with work experience in an industrial environment. Selection Criteria Year 12 passes in English, Maths A, B or C and a Science subject; alternatively, a minimum of 4 years work experience, experience and eligibility for mature age entry to appropriate Associate Degree program . Completion of a trade apprenticeship relevant to Project Management, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Relevant experience in an industrial environment Genuine interest in a career in mining Residency in a BMA mining town (Moranbah, Dysart, Emerald, Blackwater) or willingness to relocate to one of these towns Computer literacy and experience Sound interpersonal and communication skills Ability to develop good working relationships and communication with co-workers Current driver's licence Motivated to extend experience and learning to enable application of technology and improve maintenance/mining practices, efficiencies and strategies Apply online at www.bhpbilliton.com.
