2016 Naidoc Community Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2016 Naidoc Community Awards

The Annual Naidoc Awards recognise the outstanding contributions that our local Indigenous Australians make to improve the lives of Indigenous people in their communities and beyond, or to promote Indigenous issues in the wider community, or the excellence they’ve shown in their chosen field.

Each year the winners of the local NAIDOC Awards will be announced in the following categories:

  • Elder of the Year
  • Naidoc Person of the Year – Gooda Family Trophy
  • Junior Sportswoman of the Year
  • Junior Sportsman of the Year
  • Senior Sportsman of the Year
  • Elders Recognition Award
  • CQ Darumbal Pride Award
  • Lloyd Willie ‘Spirit of Unity Community’
  • Organisation of the Year
  • Student of the Year

As well as Special Recognitions presented at Naidoc Expo

  • Best Decorated Office
  • Best Banner

Nominations for the CQ Naidoc Awards close on Wednesday 6th of July 2016.

NAIDOC 2015 Community Awards

Just a reminder for you to get your nominations in for the 2015 NAIDOC Community Awards.
 
It would be great if each organisation could nominate atleast 2 people they think are deserving of these Community Awards 
 
The categories are:
 
– Elder of the Year
– NAIDOC Person of the Year
– Junior Sportsman & Sportswoman of the Year
– Senior Sportsman & Sportswoman of the Year
– Elders Recognition Award
– CQ Darumbal Cultural Pride Award
– Lloyd Willie ‘Spirit of Unity Community’
– Organisation of the Year
– Student of the Year
 
 
There are also special recognitions for the Best Decorated Office, Best School Banner and Best School Participation.
 
Closing date for nominations is Monday week (22/06/2015).

RECOGNISE AN OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL! – QLD Regional Achievement and Community Awards

The Queensland Regional Achievement and Community Awards are now open.

This year your community group will have the chance for recognition through The Prime Super Community of the Year Award.  This Award recognises the fantastic contributions of community groups and organisations making regional Queensland a better place to live. Alternatively, you may know of an unsung hero in your community going above and beyond their call of duty, who can be nominated in Origin on behalf of Australia Pacific LNG Regional Service Award.

Now is your chance to nominate and showcase the wonderful contribution your volunteers make to their community. Why not consider another Award category to nominate a regional achiever in:

  • The Prime Super Community of the Year Award
  • The Peabody Environment and Landcare Award
  • Origin on behalf of Australia Pacific LNG Regional Service Award
  • The Reay Services Energy and Sustainability Award
  • The Buzz Print Events and Tourism Award
  • The Safeguard Youth Leadership Award

By nominating a local orgainsation in this year’s Prime Super Community of the Year Awards or an individual in the Origin on behalf of Australia Pacific LNG Regional Service Award, they could be in the running to win $2,500, thanks to the Commonwealth Bank.
