National Youth Week

Hi everyone – it’s only just around the corner now!   We’d love to see you at the morning tea being held at CTC (in collaboration with our partners, Darumbal Community Youth Services and Roseberry Community Services) on Wednesday 13th April, from 10:30 – 11:30am.  There will be a yummy morning tea to indulge in and plenty of people who all want to celebrate the vital role that young people play in our society and the amazing stories they share.

Can you please share the attached flyer it amongst your networks, and try to bring along a young person/s who you think might be interested in attending.  Please note that an RSVP is required so we can ensure we order enough food to tempt your tastebuds.   Looking forward to seeing you there!

Women’s Wellbeing Expo

The Women’s Health Centre, Rockhampton, Girls Time Out, Darumbal Youth Services and the Womens Shelter are combining to hold a Women’s Wellness Expo to celebrate and recognise the achievements of women. This recognition and celebration is the theme for the Women’s Week, in March when International Women’s Day is celebrated and the Qld Government has extended it to the entire week, which is fitting to celebrate all the wonderful and exciting lives we lead and things we do!

We are inviting you to showcase and sell your products at the expo. This would be an opportunity to display to approx. 250 women during the day on March 10 – from 10 am 3 pm.

We will be having displays, workshops, yoga, massage, pampering etc.

Please call me on (07) 49226585 or email: manager@womenshealthrockhampton.com if you are interested and would like to support this inaugural fantastic event!

Odd Sock Day Friday 3.10.2014

Please note it is Odd Sock Day next Friday (3.10.14).

Odd socks day is a national anti stigma campaign, lead by Grow.

It’s a light-hearted approach to reminding people that anyone, at any time can have an odd day.  The Odd socks day campaign aims to educate, inform and challenge attitudes, and dispel myths and misunderstandings of mental illness, which contribute to stigma and discrimination (see attachment).

I would like to encourage you to wear odd socks next Friday.
