Please find attached the Young Achievers Trivia night fundraiser information that is being held by our U13 parents to assist in the NZ tour.  Think about getting together a table of friends work collegues to come along for a night of fun and frivolity.

There will also be an auction of sporting Memorabilia to assist with fund raising for the tour.

Details of the night:

Date:  Friday 19th June 2015

Time:  Bar open from 6.30p with Trivia starting at 7p.

Tables:  Only 34 tables available.  6 persons per table.

Cost is $50 PER TABLE IF PAID AT LEAST 1 WEEK BEFORE THE NIGHT or $10 per person if paid on the night ($60 per table).

Sharon Gill is taking table bookings, so even if payment is to come later ring or text Sharon on 0457995390 with yours or your friends table name so that you don’t miss out.  As this is a night where consuming alcohol is part of the event, we do ask that primary school children are not included in table numbers or brought to the event.

I have also attached sponsorship prospectus as well as letter re Young Acheiver’s tour for your perusal.   I hope you can support this great initiative.

Larissa Chambers – Sprinter from Ipswich

I want to share with you and ask if you are able to distribute a request I received from a dedicated young and proud Aboriginal woman who wishes to achieve greatness and has the clear ability and drive to do so. Her dream is to compete at the Olympics and she is currently working on getting to Rio in 2016. Her path to Rio involves State and National titles also junior international teams and she is trying to raise money to compete at the 15th IAAF World Junior Championships.

Many of you will know or have heard about her father – Charlie Chambers.  Charlie is a world known Aboriginal Artist who has given a lot back to community through his volunteer work within prisons and youth centres. Through his role as an Elder and Mentor, his dedication to others less fortunate has seen many young men turned around and set on a positive pathway.  Originally from Cherbourg, Charlie has been living down in the South East corner for many years raising his family through his art profession. He has six children of which Larissa is one. Charlie has been personally supporting Larissa’s dreams through his artwork.

Recently, Charlie had a stroke which has prevented him from working. While he has been recuperating well, he still has a long way to go.  I have worked alongside Charlie and personally vouch for his dedication, honesty and sincerity. Last year he was instrumental in ensuring a 100% completion rate for prisoners completing a Certificate Three in Cultural Art. Now he is extremely limited in his capacity to help his daughter achieve her dreams. She is now asking for assistance and I believe we should wherever possible help to provide the means for her to achieve. Believe me when I say that this girl could be the best Aboriginal sprinter in Australia. Please go to this site for full details and support her if you are able:

Also, you might like to look at some of her previous endeavours through these links – , , , , , and there are plenty more.

Larissa’s request detail – “Hello My name is Larissa Chambers. I’m a sprinter from Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. Competing at States I won the 100m, 200m and the 400m becoming the fastest 18 year old girl in Queensland. Recently competing at the Australian Junior Championships I competed in the 100m, 200m and the 400m placing 2nd in both the 100m and 200m events. As a result to my performance in Sydney I have now been selected to represent Australia in the 100m and 4x100m in Eugene, Oregon (USA) later this year.   If you are able to support me in my athletics endeavours, I would greatly appreciate it.  Details of my account for fundraising is as follows”:
