In 2016 Queensland will expand International Women’s Day celebrations into a week-long, state-wide event called Queensland Women’s Week.
The Women’s Health Centre, in partnership with Girls Time Out, Darumbal Youth Services and the Women’s Shelter, will be holding a FREE Women’s Wellness Expo at the Rockhampton Leagues Club on the 10th of March from 10am to 3pm to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of the women in our community.
This event is about approaching women’s health holistically. We have a wide variety of services and businesses attending, to share information, inspiration, and fun and a wide range of educational and informative products and services on how to improve wellness and get the most out of life for women of all ages. There will be free sessions on Yoga, free massage and free beauty treatments. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
We have attached a flyer, so please print it out or share it with anyone you think would like to come along.
We still have space left for women’s based businesses or services that would like to connect women with services that might be valuable to them. If you are interested, please contact the centre via phone on (07) 4922 6585 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Women’s Health Centre, Rockhampton, Girls Time Out, Darumbal Youth Services and the Womens Shelter are combining to hold a Women’s Wellness Expo to celebrate and recognise the achievements of women. This recognition and celebration is the theme for the Women’s Week, in March when International Women’s Day is celebrated and the Qld Government has extended it to the entire week, which is fitting to celebrate all the wonderful and exciting lives we lead and things we do!
We are inviting you to showcase and sell your products at the expo. This would be an opportunity to display to approx. 250 women during the day on March 10 – from 10 am 3 pm.
We will be having displays, workshops, yoga, massage, pampering etc.
Please call me on (07) 49226585 or email: email@example.com if you are interested and would like to support this inaugural fantastic event!
On Thursday the 4th of February we are starting our Anger Management for Women workshop.
This workshop is weekly for four sessions; women will have the opportunity to increase their self-awareness whilst learning about how to express anger in a healthy way and by utilizing practical skills. We provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment for women to participate. This workshop is always fun, and whilst participants may be nervous at the start, they quickly relax and contribute to the group as well as have a laugh.
Women only need to provide a gold coin donation to attend each session; resources and light refreshments are provided. If a woman cannot give a donation, they will not be excluded.
Registration is necessary for attendance.
I’ve attached a flyer for further information. Please feel free to share it around to anyone who may be interested.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself: Chantelle (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Rebecca (email@example.com) or via phone on (07) 4922 6585.
The Women’s Health Centre, Rockhampton will be holding a fundraising event in June to raise money for the centre. Please find attached further information.
We have a workshop beginning on the 23rd of April called ‘Fake It Til You Make It’. It’s for women who want to learn more about themselves, self-esteem, confidence, and assertiveness, in a supportive and caring environment. We also utilise a number of expressive therapy activities in the workshop for women to explore themselves and have fun. It is open to any woman from 17 and up. We need at least 6 women for this workshop to go ahead, and it goes for two hours a week (9.30am to 11.30am), for six weeks.
Attendance is by gold coin donation, but that includes tea and coffee and resources.
