Creative Young Stars Grants Program

Creative Young Stars is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for students and young people to participate in artistic, cultural, academic or community based activities, events or training.

In this round there will be grants available of $500 for eligible individuals, and $3000 for eligible groups.

For example: if you are a budding artist, musician, academic or volunteer, you can apply for a grant of $500 to help you achieve your dreams. Groups can get $3000.

Eligible school students and young people aged 25 years and under can apply for a Creative Young Stars grant. Students and young people from all geographic locations and backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including but not limited to students and young people with disability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. The eligibility criteria is available in the Program Guidelines at www.youth.gov.au.

Expression of Interest: Cultural Diversity Training

The Rockhampton CALD and Refugee Health Reference Group is seeking expressions of interest to run some Cultural Diversity Training in Rockhampton.

More than just cultural awareness, Cultural Diversity Training:

· Provides an understanding of core value differences
· Gives an appreciation of your cultural lens
· Challenges your behaviours
· Tackles racism
· Provides strategies for cross-cultural communication
· Gives an understanding of religion
· Provides tools to develop an effective diverse workforce
· Supports delivery to a culturally diverse market
· Assists with making decisions that impact on a culturally diverse community

This training is being offered in partnership with Amarna, Central Queensland Medicare Local and Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours.
