We are currently accepting all applications online. Please visit our website www.centacarecq.com to apply for any role that best suits your profile.
Last call – only 2 spots left: but we will hold a waiting list in case situations change by February and others cannot come.
Join us this Friday for an opportunity to discuss the learnings from the NDIS trial sites and the issues workers and service delivery providers will face in the rollout of the NDIS in Central Queensland.
The forum is open to all members of The Services Union and workers across the disability sector in Central Queensland. Assistant State Secretary, Jennifer Thomas, has been an active representative on the NDIS Workforce State Advisory Group and will lead a discussion on what has been learnt, what has been achieved, and the challenges we will still face.
- 1pm, Friday 5 August
- IFYS “Supports by Design”, Cnr William and Bolsover Streets, Rockhampton
- RSVP to Services.Union2@theservicesunion.com.au by COB Thursday 4 August
This is the first opportunity to discuss the challenges of the NDIS from a workforce and employer perspective in Rockhampton.
- How will organisations balance the flexibility needed under the new business model while still providing employment certainty and training to offer quality services demanded by clients?
- What standards and qualifications might be required in a growing sector?
- What new services and employment opportunities might open up and how will these fit within the industry structures we have right now?
Join The Services Union, in conjunction with IFYS, to discuss these questions and more.

Queensland Alliance for Mental Health is holding a series of three NDIS readiness workshops in Rockhampton – the first one being on 18 -19 Feb at Rydges.
The workshops – NDIS – Ready Set Go – are being held in regional centres in Queensland to provide an opportunity for organisations working in mental health service delivery to get up to speed with the NDIS. A lot of investment has been made in readying the disability sector and as a result issues raised by that sector are finding a way back into strategic and policy discussions.
QAMH, with this series of workshops, aims to offer our sector the same type of information as the disability sector but importantly use the workshops to identify key issues specific to mental health and NDIS implementation. We are already actively involved in a number of high level strategic working groups with regard to the NDIS rollout and believe we will be able to take information from our sector to these groups to ensure the community managed mental health has a voice. We recognise that our regionally-based colleagues do not always have access to this type of development support or that regional-specific issues are not sufficiently captured when discussing broad sector issues which is why QAMH is only delivering these workshops in regional Queensland.
